About Tourmaline

Tourmaline is the newer birthstone of October beside Opal. The name "Tourmaline" comes from the ancient Sinhalese word – Turamali, which means "stone of many colours" because it often has multiple colours in one crystal.

Don't be confused if you have heard many alternative names for Tourmaline. They are to refer to different shades of Tourmaline. For instance, Rubellite refers to red Tourmaline, while Indicolite refers to the beautiful greenish dark blue Tourmaline.
